Since its establishment as a brand in early 2008, “Your Hometown Realtors®” just seemed like a natural fit. Two local realtors®, involved in the community, join forces to represent a wide variety of homes and businesses in the Wellington and surrounding area. They do this consistently in the top 10% of sales nationally. I have always had a passion for real estate. Shortly after graduating Conestoga College in the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Program, I started a small building maintenance service, essentially property management. This translated into investing in rental properties in Waterloo and Centre Wellington. I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy every aspect of classic cars and power sports. Since then I have joined Royal LePage and the Guelph and District Association of Realtors®. I currently serve on the G.D.A.R.’s Board of Directors, chair of the Publicity Task Force and have recently joined the Local Market Task Force. Locally, I am a member of the Elora Buisness Improvement Area executive and serve as Secretary Treasurer. I believe acting in these capacities not only gives back to the organizations that have been key in my successes, but also grants me the opportunity to be at the fore front of ideas and concepts that will shape the future. I look forward to sharing this great community with you.

Having lived and worked in Centre Wellington and Guelph for the last 20+ years, I have grown to discover that there is no other place I would rather be. As a mother to three young children, community involvement is paramount to me both personally and professionally. I take pride in knowing that this community is one of the best in Ontario to live and raise a family.

Having begun my real estate career as an administrator, an assistant and then as a real estate clerk at a law firm, my background knowledge serves me, and in turn my clients, well. I come from a professional background of restaurant management, so customer service, work ethic and integrity have always been a priority for me.

I am thrilled to be a part of the team at Your Hometown Realty. Their sense of community and pride in our area is evident, and I am excited to be a part of that enthusiasm. The wealth of knowledge and friendly office atmosphere makes for a wonderful place to work. I look forward to continuing my career at “Hometown” and endeavour to help clients and friends (and clients who become friends) navigate the real estate markets of Elora, Fergus and Guelph.

Megan Thoms-McDougall Born and raised in Centre Wellington, I have always enjoyed working with people and being of service to my community. Real estate has always been a personal interest of mine, and with over a decade of experience in retail banking and more than 20 years of customer service and volunteerism within the community, real estate is a natural fit for me. My personal and professional goal is to dedicate myself to the “3 C’s”: Clan, Character, and Community. My husband and I have had the great fortune of being able to raise our two young children where the roots of our both of our families are firmly planted. I began my professional career in banking at the very branch which my father commissioned to be built, and later served as manager. My husband Scott is the second generation owner of a local door and window company, a family business started by his parents. It is through their examples of hard work, honesty, and dedication to the community that I have learned what a gift and responsibility it is to use one’s skills and character to serve others. Throughout the years, I have been involved in many community organizations, including The Elora Festival, Fergus Scottish Festival, Fergus Grand Theatre, and several years serving as president of The Fairview Ladies golf club. It is with honor and pleasure that I have joined the team at Your Hometown Realty to continue my career in real estate, and look forward to helping each of our clients achieve their goals within this great community!

As a resident of Guelph and Centre Wellington since 1997, I am proud to serve my community with Your Hometown Realty.

A REALTOR® since 2008, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with buyers and sellers to fulfill their dreams of home ownership and successfully navigate the local real estate landscape. My background in home construction and renovations comes in handy, especially with first time home buyers and for homes that need a bit (or a lot) of TLC to live up to their potential. I specialize in residential properties and enjoy the diverse variety that our region has to offer; century homes that could tell so many stories, country properties with beautiful landscapes, brand new homes that are just waiting to start their journey with their first families, and even cottages for a relaxing getaway.

Giving back to the community is extremely important to me and I enjoy being involved as both a local REALTOR® and through my farm, Harmony Meadows Alpaca. Events I sponsor are The Wellington Market,  The Fergus Highland Rugby Clubs Mini Rugby Program , The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides and the Guelph and District Association of REALTORS®. I have been chosen to serve as President of the Association for 2018.

Drop me a line or stop by the office some time; I am always happy to chat about real estate, puppies, alpacas or the goings on in Wellington County…truly the best place to live and work in Ontario!

Born and raised on a farm in the area, I have strong ties and a deep sense of connection to this wonderful community. After living and working in the Region of Waterloo for nearly a decade, when the time came to settle down and raise our own family, my wife and I could think of nowhere else we would rather do so than back home in Centre Wellington, in the beautiful village of Elora.

In addition to my career in Real Estate, I have worked as a firefighter since 2004. Working in the Fire Service inevitably draws you into a greater sense of connection with your own community. I feel privileged to belong to the team at Your Hometown Realty, which works hard to promote a similar commitment to community involvement and contribution. For me, this is where the intersections exist between my two careers; real estate provides me with the opportunity to help people find a home and a sense of community, and at the same time to participate in the ongoing growth of this vibrant region.

I take a lot of satisfaction in serving my clients with honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic. I am a focused, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented agent dedicated to proving myself as an asset to my clients, and to helping them make fulfilling and knowledgeable investments in this beautiful county.
